Salman,Big B together for a cause

If you thought Salman Khan can’t share any platform with anyone from the Bachchan khandaan, think again. The actor and the Bachchan patriarch Amitabh Bachchan and other Bollywood stars have joined hands to present 'Star CINTAA Superstars ka Jalwa', an entertainment extravaganza which will raise money for the welfare of Cine and TV artists.

Star India Network and Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) have collaborated for a charitable contribution to provide the association's members with medical services, rehearsal halls and preview theatres.

"I am very happy to be here and be a part of this spectacular event that will not only entertain the audience but will also encourage a noble cause. I have been a part of Bollywood for over 20 years now and I owe every bit of my success to this Industry," Salman said at a press conference.

Star CINTAA Superstars Ka Jalwa will have six episodes and the first episode will be aired on March 21 at 9 pm.

Amitabh in an angry mood!

Whatever be the situation, Amitabh Bachchan never shows his anger to the public and always controls his bad mood. But recently, during the promotion of ‘Teen Patti’, Big B showed his bad temperament to one and all. His upset mood was very much visible and he seemed very angry over something.

 

Dressed in white and black stripe suit, white shirt and pink tie, Big B entered for the promotional event two hours late but we all know that Amitabh Bachchan is very punctual and never arrives at an event so late. Then he took a wrong seat which was allotted to someone else and refused to change his seat. When he was asked to take his seat at the center, he in an angry mood said the organizers to change the card.

When enquired about his bad mood, it came to know that he was probably angry because of the questions been asked by a TV journalist.

’Teen Patti’ is slated for Feb 26 release and the film stars Sir Ben Kingsley, Raima Sen and Saira Mohan in important roles.

Aamir Khan visited Amitabh Bachchan

United we stand, divided we fall. Our stars have understood the importance of unity. So, Aamir Khan visited Amitabh Bachchan on Monday morning to discuss the publicity of their respective movies as both Paa and 3 Idiots will release in the same month, that is December.

The news came to us by the stars’ blog posts. On Sunday, Big B wrote, “Aamir comes over tomorrow at my initiative to discuss a few promotional points for our respective films…Let’s see how things go.” While Aamir’s Facebook post on Monday morning said, “Pucca Idiott is very keen to see Paa.”

So, was it all for publicity as Amitabh is set to revive his company with ‘Paa’ and Aamir is quite a pro in planning marketing gimmicks for his films? However, on Tuesday, Big B blogged about the meeting and didn’t mention anything significant about the publicity strategy.

“Aamir dropped by yesterday (Monday) in the morning at my invitation and it was lovely to spend time with him, discuss the film, show him the promo, receive his appreciation, talk about his own film and invite him for the premiere (of ‘Paa’),” he wrote.

Skeptics however claim that this meeting was just eyewash for getting publicity ahead of both the releases. But trade analyst Taran Adarsh tells a daily, “They won’t stoop to this level merely for publicity. But it’s good that stars are coming together. It will help build a better industry”.

Sure, it’s nice to see the two stalwarts bonding over business.

I would like to be a journalist: Big B

While promoting his film about Indian media in New Delhi, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan said he would like to be a journalist, if not an actor. “I would like to be a journalist. In fact in my interviews that I had given in the 1970s, I mentioned during most of them that I want to become a journalist in my next life,” Amitabh told reporters on Wednesday while promoting his upcoming film Rann with Ram Gopal Varma . The movie is about Indian media and how it’s manipulated. The 66-year-old star who has been castigating the media and journalists on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com, said he felt a journalist’s job was a difficult one. “I say this because I feel that it is a very difficult task since sometimes your conscience doesn’t match with reality and that’s where you want to go home and tear yourself apart and take a decision,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Varma, true to his nature, raked up a controversy at the press meet by playing the film’s theme song which seemed to tinker with the National Anthem. "Jana gana mana rann hai. Is rann mein zakhmi hua hai Bahrat ka bhaagya vidhaata?" goes the lyric of the film’s title track. The director in his own words has included the lines of the national anthem to describe the "bad situation" of the present day India. Answering questions about his decision to reinterpret the national anthem, Varma said that his attempt should not be termed as unpatriotic. “I have not tinkered with the anthem or treated it in a disrespectful manner. The song is just a medium to express the angst against the current situation in the country. Please do not try to create a controversy where there is none,” Varma told the reporters. Even Mr. Bachchan, who plays the head of a 24-hour news channel in the film, defended Varma’s decision, saying, “I trust the director’s decision and I am sure that he has taken adequate caution before going ahead with the song.” Besides Big B, the movie also stars Ritesh Deshmukh and Paresh Rawal .

Big B proud of Padma Shri Aishwarya Bachchan

Last year it was dhak dhak girl Madhuri Dixit-Nene who received the prestigious award Padma Shri from the President of India and now this time around its going to be Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who would be honoured with this award. Amitabh Bachchan speaks on this eve and feels proud of her bahu Aishwarya. “I would rush to be in time for the President’s Award Ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where Aishwarya will be honoured with the Padma Shri. It’s a moment of great pride for all of us.” Further the legendry actor speaks, “She will become the 5th Padma Award in our household.

My Father with the Padma Bhushan the first, then the Padma Shri for me, followed again by the Padma Bhushan to me some years later, Jaya’s Padma Shri and now Aishwarya’s. This must be a record for the country. 5 Padma Awards in one family. God has been very kind to us. The people of this land have been very kind to us. We are humbled and with bended knee and bowed heads acknowledge your affection and care and love.”

Padma Awards were announced on the eve of the Republic Day. Aishwarya is the youngest person to ever achieve this honour from the film fraternity. Apart from her even Akshay Kumar’s name was also announced for this recognition.
