Shahid Kapoor has just escaped a fatal accident!

Actor Shahid Kapoor has just escaped a fatal accident on the set of his father Pankay Kapoor’s directional debut, ‘Mausam’, he was left with a shoulder injury. The accident happened when a Ferris-wheel came hurling down towards Shahid and injuring his right arm. The accident could have proved fatal if Shahid did not move out.

Narrating the accident, a source said, "Yes, Shahid is injured and has hurt his right shoulder and arm. But it could`ve been worse. If he hadn`t moved out in time his face would`ve taken the brunt. Pankajji just couldn`t move. He was transfixed staring at his son. Shahid kept assuring everyone he was fine until the doctor arrived."

Producer Sheetal Talwar said, "It was a nightmare for all of us. And I'd rather not talk about it. Miraculously, Shahid was saved. No, it wasn't the whole Ferris wheel; just one of the boxes came loose."

Priyanka Chopra in Shahid Kapoor’s car!

They may try their best to dodge the paparazzi but can’t keep the truth hidden for long. So much of newsprint has been consumed by speculations on the relationship between Priyanka Chopra and her Kaminey co-star Shahid Kapoor, but the picture wasn’t clear, until now, that is.

On her flight to Brazil to shoot her ‘reality’ show Khatron Ke Khiladi, Priyanka was seen stepping out of Shahid Kapoor’s black and amply spacious Range Rover at the international airport in Mumbai on Monday night.

Obviously, the duo did not want the press to get a whiff of the fact that Shahid had come to drop Priyanka off. When the Range Rover wheeled in the airport complex, Shahid must have spotted the media at Terminal A where Priyanka was supposed to alight. So the Range Rover speeded to Terminal B where Priyanka stepped out quietly and rushed to Terminal A to give the impression that she had come on her own.

But the eagle-eyed paparazzi did manage to click the Range Rover and no surprises for guessing that its number matches that of Shahid’s car.

Priyanka is off to Brazil for a month and we guess the two lovers needed as much quality time together as they could squeeze out.

Shahid Kapoor has reinvented himself

Shahid Kapoor seems to be on a joy ride these days. He is not the old Shahid anymore who was once just latching. On to his famous superstar girlfriend Kareena Kapoor for getting a part of her “over-the-top” limelight. He has reinvented himself.

Shahid already had the exceptional chocolate boy appearance to his credit but that was not matched by box office success. But, lately lady luck has smiled on him with hits like “Jab We Met” and the underdog movie “Kaminey.”

I was just myself and success happened. In the latest interview , the actor said that he was happy with his frequently changing appearances.

He has appeared on the show two times previously and every time he was sporting a new look.

When quizzed by the host "Swati" about the same, he politely replied that he has been trying to operate things for him in a distinct way and it should not be looked upon as re-invention, as it is commonly called by media.

He likes frequent experimentation with his looks for his roles. He was asked by the anchor on his reaction to the actors aged more than 40 trying to get flaunt-able six pack abs. He said that he was also pretty impressed with the all the three Khans bringing the concept of six pack abs to Bollywood.

In fact, everyone is so impressed with the Kapur lad these days that director Vishal Bhardwaj has remarked that Shahid can be a mega-star if he stops devoting all that extra attention to his countenance and hair.

However, ironically, Vishal was the one who suggested Shahid to grow his long hair for Kaminey. Kaminey will be remembered as one of the landmark movies in Shahid’s career because he looked so different in it.

But, Shahid believes that script is the pivotal determinant of the success of a movie. For him, the different, long haired look of Kaminey was just aimed to stun the audiences and attract them towards the movie halls.

In conclusion, Shahid according to himself, is a director’s man and now, his hair has been cut quite short, as insisted by his directors.

As reported, the lungi brand has a funny name that came from director Ken Ghosh’s agile mind - ‘Airtime lungis.’

Shahid as the new ambassador for Levi’s

Shahid Kapoor is the new face of Levi’s fitting Signature jeans. As Shahid replaces, Deepika Padukone whose contract with Levi’s got over last year in December, this becomes Shahid’s biggest ever endorsement deal. This time, the brand was on the lookout for a male ambassador. However, Akshay Kumar is still the Levi’s 501 ambassador.

Priyanka Chopra & Shahid Kapoor together again!

They seem to have realized it just in the nick of time. Otherwise, it could have been late, and now, as per reports, Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor are back together. They have apparently discovered one thing: that they can’t do without each other.

This happened when Shasha and PC were in Bangkok. Coincidentally, both were there shooting for their respective films and even staying in the same hotel when destiny played its dice and they bumped into each other.

 

However, as a source tells a tabloid, Shahid realized that it was his mistake to call off the relationship and that he should have given some time to understand Priyanka before jumping to any conclusions. So, he contacted one of Priyanka’s close friends and the girl eventually became instrumental in bringing them together.

 

Now, after sorting out differences and mending the fences, the two are happy being together and this has helped Priyanka to boost her sagging spirit; the lady was reportedly keeping low and was quite disturbed with the break-up.

They may have broken up, but work keeps putting Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in each other’s paths. The ex-lovers recently found themselves sharing the same hotel in Bangkok while shooting their respective films.

Priyanka is with Ranbir Kapoor to shoot for producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s romantic film Anjaana Anjaani, while Shahid has been filming Yashraj’s next flick opposite Anushka Sharma of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi fame for about a week.

Incidentally, when Priyanka arrived in Bangkok, she checked into the same hotel where Shahid was staying - the Grand Sukhumvit Hotel.

It’s not known whether the former lovers have interacted with each other during their stay, but their respective professional commitments are keeping them busy for most of the hours during the day.

On top of it, rumours trickling out of the sets of the Yashraj film speak of a budding dosti between Shahid and Anushka.

Shahid’s life story retold in ‘Chance Pe Dance’

Though it’s not a bio-pic, Ken Ghosh’s movie Chance Pe Dance has a lot of slices of the real life of the film’s leading star Shahid Kapoor.

For instance, in the musical film, Shahid’s character has to face a lot of rejection during his struggling days. The same was also true for the actor who had many doors slammed on his face before he got the much-sought break in Ishq Vishk.

Another similarity is that in the film Shahid’s character drives a run-down car and even lives in it. The same was the case with Shahid as well when he used to drive an old car (though he never lived in it) during his struggling days in the industry. In fact, an instance from Shahid’s life when he played a tree in a school play as been recreated as it is in the film.

But the most striking similarity is the love for dance that Shahid’s character has in the film. It’s no secret that Shahid himself has been a terrific dancer from the start of his career and dancing is a no less passion for him than acting.

In ‘Chance Pe Dance’, Shahid plays a struggler who participates in a reality show, and slowly emerges as a dancing superstar. The film has Genelia D'Souza as his ladylove.

The Kaminey couple has finally parted ways; Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapur are no longer together according to some media reports which are positively abuzz with the news.

The relationship, which was a closely guarded secret has gone kaput with Shahid reportedly the one who called time on the union leaving Priyanka deeply hurt. Shasha and PC first met on the sets of Kaminey where their love blossomed as the film was shot.

According to sources, Shahid wasn’t as committed to the relationship as Priyanka was and his reserved nature was clashing with Priyanka’s flamboyant character, which led to fights. Now Priyanka’s friends are helping her get over the break up and she was recently seen offering prayers in Ajmer Sharif. Praying for Mr. Right perhaps?

Buzz up!Shahid admitted that he shares great chemistry with Priyanka. He added that his camaraderie with her is amazing and had lots of fun working with her.

Shahid is not in the mood to reveal if he is in love with Priyanka but he just can't stop singing her praises. He said that he always knew she is a very good actress and that she has given one of the most splendid performances of her career in Kaminey. He thinks that Priyanka is at the peak of her career.

He is one actor who is sure of his heroine. He is thankful to her for accepting the role in spite of knowing the fact that he plays double role in Kaminey. He said that Priyanka is a team player and a confident actor who knows exactly what she is doing.

Kaminey going strong in US

It’s celebration time in Bollywood. After a lull that lasted months in the first half of 2009, the industry now has a lot to cheer about with the quick successes of films like New York, Kambakkht Ishq, Love Aaj Kal, and now Kaminey.

Despite a delayed release in Mumbai (due to the swine flu shutdown), the film is estimated to have done business of about Rs. 22 crores with the occupancy rate in multiplexes bordering on 75 to 80 percent, just a little less than Saif Ali Khan’s ‘Love Aaj Kal’.

Abroad, the film has done better in US than in UK.

In the US the film raked in a decent sum of $726,834 (Rs. 3.55 crores approximately) in the opening weekend on 82 screens. In comparison ‘Love Aaj Kal’ had made Rs. 5.91 crores on 102 screens in its opening weekend.

In the UK, ‘Kaminey’ is running on 28 screens and made £111,954 (Rs 89.40 lakhs apx). In comparison ‘Love Aaj Kal’ had opened on 52 screens and had collected about Rs. 3.37 crores.

Surprisingly, last week’s other release, Life Partner, has performed better than expected in the UK. The movie grossed £89,521 (about Rs. 71.52 lakhs) in its opening weekend.

So the box-office verdict is clear: Kaminey rocks, but it’s not as crowd pulling as some of the recent releases from Bollywood. Still the film has got the biggest opening than any Shahid Kapur, Priyanka Chopra or Vishal Bhardwaj film has taken so far.

The female fans of Shahid Kapur are not done having an eyeful of the actor’s well-sculpted torso in the promos of the upcoming film Kaminey. The actor’s waxed chest, his bulging abs, his biceps and those finely-shaped collar bones flanking his graceful neck, gives Shahid an almost Adonis kind of look. The girls obviously are swooning over him.

Since behind every beautiful thing there’s some kind of pain (as says an American singer), getting that perfect body wasn’t a cakewalk for Shahid.

Speaking about the shirtless scene, Shahid told a news agency: “This scene was Vishal's vision... he told me he had a scene where he wanted me running with the horses. Since, this was to be a topless scene, it took me nearly a year of following a strict diet and exercise routine to build my body to give it a sprinter's look.”

The movie has the 28-year-old actor playing a double role as two brothers, Guddu, who stammers, and Charlie, who lisps.

“Charlie's character needed to pronounce 'fa' in place of 'sa'. So, in every dialogue, every scene whether it was emotional, comedy or action, I had to maintain that speech defect and still talk like I had been talking like this forever. Guddu's Character stammered so it was very difficult to get into that state of mind of stammering each time,” Shahid said.

What’s been brewing between them is a big question? It seems Shahid Kapur and Priyanka Chopra like to surprise the media. The reports about them avoiding each other and not promoting Kaminey together are recent. But to everyone’s shock, the duo turned up for a film promotional event. And not only did they have a gala time, but were seen pretty comfortable in each other’s company.

According to reports, Shahid and Priyanka along with director Vishal Bharadwaj came to the shoot around 11 pm that day. After Vishal shot for his portion and said whatever he had to, it was Shahid-Priyanka’s turn and the two had a field day on the sets, entertaining everyone.

If Priyanka was with her brother and some friends, Shahid was accompanied by his own set of chums. When everyone was so friendly on the sets cracking jokes and having fun, it was a bit problematic for the VJ who was following the script meant for the show, but alas couldn’t control the two stars who were at their humorous best.

Now that makes us wonder if Shasha and Pranks actually share cold-vibes?

Priyanka, Shahid are 'hottest Bollywood couple'

Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor have topped a poll of Bollywood's hottest couples after winning 31 per cent of the votes.

The Times Of India asked its readers to elect their favourite pairs, while Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan came in second place with 24 per cent. Khan has previously dated actresses Sangeeta Bijlani and Aishwarya Rai.
