Aishwarya Rai introduced Raavan!

It was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who took the task of introducing Raavan during the audio launch of the film that took place on April 24th, 2010 at Mumbai. The actress said, “This is the most challenging role of my career. What is unique about Mani is that he draws you in his world through the narration. Ragini is a unique woman and a strong character which I personally can relate to.”

Ash recalled that Mani discussed the concept of Raavan when they were shooting for Guru.

Vikram, Abhishek Bachchan, AR Rahman, Mani Ratnam and others were present at the event. Much to the delight of the select audiences that were present, Rahman preformed some of the songs.

Love between Ranbir and Priyanka Chopra

We all know that Siddharth Anand’s romantic flick Anjaana Anjaani is about two complete strangers, played by Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. And now, won’t you be interested in knowing how the couple meets in the film!

As the insiders spill the beans, the movie has Ranbir and Priyanka playing two luckless, loveless individuals who decide to put an end to their miseries by jumping off a bridge.

“Both land up on the same bridge at the same time. RK stops PC from jumping and tells her to travel with him to Vegas to make it big,” tells a source about ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ to a tabloid.

We hear that this story about the meeting of two luckless strangers is taken from a French movie ‘La Fille Sur Le Pont’ (The Girl On The Bridge).

However, in the French movie the hero, heroine separates in the end, whereas Priyanka-Ranbir fall in love.

Kareena wants to live the rest of her life with her man

Everyone has his or her share of relationships in life. Kareena Kapoor too had hers. Her break-up with Shahid Kapoor more than two years back became much talk of the town and when it came to light that she was in a relationship with Saif Ali Khan, who had a broken marriage and a failed affair behind him, everyone thought that love between the duo would fizzle out after initial infatuation.

But that didn’t happen. Love between them is as well set as the Kareena tattoo on Saif’s forearm. While Saif has more than once asserted his desire to marry Kareena, she’s been keeping quiet on that count.

However, her good friend Karan Johar managed to get out a candid admission from Kareena on the TV show ‘Lift Kara De’.

“One does feel settled in every relationship that one is in, but this time I am with the man (Saif) I want to live with for the rest of my life,” Kareena said on the show to be aired on Saturday on Sony.

Earlier this week, she had accompanied Saif to Delhi to be beside him when he received Padma Shri award from the President of India.

Abhishek Bachchan as Naxalite!

We all know that Abhishek Bachchan plays a negative role in the movie Raavana and his character has shades of one of the greatest mythological villain, Ravan, but the new buzz is that the main inspiration for his role came from the infamous Maoist leader Kobad Ghandy.

As the talented director and a master storyteller Mani Ratnam has a knack for recreating the burning issues of the day in his movies (Roja, Dil Se), he has again tried to do something similar in Raavan. In fact, according to a daily, Mani has even a set of researchers to find out facts about Kobad Ghandy.

As a source tells a daily, “In Raavana, Abhishek plays Veera, a naxalite leader of the downtrodden villagers in eastern Madhya Pradesh. Just like Ghandy’s Communist party India-Maoist is banned, Abhishek’s organisation is also banned in the film.”

Till now, never has a mainstream film touched the issue of naxalism. Mani will try to show it through his version of Ramayana.

The movie is set to hit the theatres on June 18.

Deepika Padukone’s wonderful evening in her life!

How can the gorgeous Deepika Padukone turn down a coffee invitation from the debonair Shammi Kapoor? No way.

After accepting the invite on Twitter, Deepika met Shammi ji at his house in Walkeshwar on Tuesday. The actress took out time from her chock-a-bloc schedule to be with Shammi Kapoor and his entire family. Before that Deepika was in constant touch with her Shamsheraj Sir on Twitter to fix the coffee date. She wrote a few days back, “sir I’m shooting tomorrow. could we pls meet on the 6th of april if u are free at a time convenient to u?”

And as per reports, Deepika had coffee and dinner at Shammi Kapoor’s place and she was there for nearly two hours talking about her films and his films.

So, after having such a special date, how could she hold her emotions back while writing on Twitter?

Kareena Kapoor won’t let Saif alone

It’s going to be a moment of great pride and happiness for the Chote Nawab Saif Ali Khan. And his pretty girlfriend won’t let him be alone. So, in spite of being sick and weak, Kareena Kapoor will accompany her Saifu to the Padmashri Awards.

Actually, all is not well with Bebo. We hear that she was shooting in Goa for Ra.One and the hectic schedule coupled with Goa’s searing heat and humidity took a toll on her. The actress couldn’t even rest after she was back in Mumbai. She continued shooting for her endorsement deals and fainted due to exhaustion on Sunday night.

Bebo is obviously feeling weak and has been advised rest. But rest she won’t coz she has to accompany Saif to Delhi today. Saif is set to receive the country’s fourth highest civilian honour, Padmashree Award, and there’s no way she’s going to leave him alone in this memorable moment.
